Berta Tilmantaite, who completed the MA last year, has been awarded joint third prize in the 2012 Digital Heretics Journalism Award for her project “The River Runs Back.” Berta’s 9 minute video examines the transformation of the Yongding River near Beijing. It has also been published, with associated photographs, in The Geographic Magazine.

Mark Esplin – who is currently doing the MA International Multimedia Journalism – had his story on Tropical Storm Sendong featured on the influential foto8 site in April.
